Warm-Up Period
What is Warm-Up Period?
A Warm-Up Period is the practice of gradually increasing the volume of automated actions over days or weeks when starting with a new LinkedIn account or a new automation tool. Instead of going from zero to full volume immediately, warm-up starts with a small number of daily actions and incrementally increases over a period of typically 2-4 weeks.
The concept mirrors email warm-up, where new sending domains build reputation gradually. On LinkedIn, a sudden spike in activity from an account that was previously inactive (or has no history with the automation tool) can trigger abuse detection. Warm-up establishes a natural-looking activity pattern that LinkedIn's systems accept.
Why It Matters
Skipping warm-up is one of the fastest ways to get your LinkedIn account restricted. LinkedIn's abuse detection considers your historical activity patterns when evaluating whether current behavior is normal. An account that suddenly starts sending 100 connection requests per day when it previously sent 5 looks suspicious. A gradual ramp-up teaches LinkedIn's systems that your increased activity is legitimate.
